January is over and so is the New Year, remember all your goals and affirmations? Maybe you put them aside for a few days because…. because first you want to get in the mood for “your goals?
I sympathize with that logic. But be careful not to get lost in the New Year only to wake up during some rerun of your old days.
So, if you have set up a few goals (no resolutions -those are for agitators, politicians and parents) try this:
1) Write all your goals down, and I do mean all of them!
There are too many? Who cares!
Just be careful that your goals do not interfere with your other Topics (If you want to slim down, a goal such as ” I will eat a cake a day” is not very helpful.)
You do not have to work on each topic every day. Start with one, then alternate with another.
You want to work less/more. And you want to spend more quality time with your children/wife/husband/partner ….?
Work one day longer, effectively. Use the time you have, not the time you need.
2. Resolve your motives
Write it down.
Why did you choose that specific goal vs another. What are your motivations?
3. Start within 3 days
It works. You need to start within 72hrs.
People who immediately start with some ideas, work, projects are more likely to succeed.
Make a List (again)
for example: 1. Throw away all the old magazines that are piling up.
2. tommorrow: write 1hr longer
3. Stop drinking coffee tommorrow, start drinking tea/water..
4. Do`s and Don`ts
Be realistic, try not to fly at higher game. You do not want to get lost for wrong destinations.
Again write.
Do´s : walk daily instead of taking the tube.
Write at least one page
work out at least once a week
Talk to your neighbour
Don´ts: Don´t fool yourself, that if you pause one day from your writing schedule you will be more effective the following day.
Stay away from the wine… or choccolate….
Don´t eat after midnight….

Ever heard of a sad optimist? Or a depressed optimist?
But there is never a happy or beware – lucky pessimist.
We are not born as pessimists neither are we raised as optimists.
Too much optimism is misleading,as facts and serious obstacles tend to be ignored. But then again—
What would life be if there weren´t any optimists?
Would there be any entrepreneurs without optimism?
Why is optimism often attributed with being cheery, lighthearted and just in general – lowbrow (that´s a far stretch)?
No, that is not fair. When people talk about “optimism”, they immediately bring up the phrases “having control over your life”, “being happy”, “changing your mind”, “changing your life”….
basically it´s having a General positive outlook on all things.
Sometimes this attitude is close to stupidity.
And pessimism is dark, gloomy, not friendly.
But that is stupid as well because it´s power is plain destructive.
Then again both Mr&Mrs Brightside and Mr & Mrs Doomsday have one thing in common – they have a vision.
Do you think wars are started by pessimists?
Which one is a better and accurate observer?
Who has more insight into people and their nature?
Do you think, you´re a pessimist?
1) If you´re first reaction to bad news is just a shrug,
you´re probably a lost case.
2) If you do not vote because you think it has no effect -talk to people who vote. Research, read, avoid being opinionated.
3) Instead of thinking “I told you so” say something you really feel.
Pessimism is nothing more than a shield for people from life.
But that is not neccesary. To overcome nauseating pessimism you will have to go out of your way.
Optimism is nothing more than an attitude towards life.
And do not mistake a yeasayer for an optimist.
