women in photography
Iranian Photography now is a new book covering young Iran photographers.
After watching so many documentaries about Iran, I was especially intrigued by the many young people I saw and heard in these documentaries. That stirred my curiousity and I had to research a bit. I love the work of Shadi Ghadirian, her “Like Every Day” series made me laugh. And it reminded me instantly of all the smart women of my childhood. How their jokes and remarks made sense to me years later.
I will definitely order my copy of that portfolio.

Then, as this post is titled “Women in photography” – a few weeks ago I found out about this blog/platform Women in Photography. It is a project by Emi elkins and clara phillips. Every other Tuesday of the month it will present a solo exhibition of work from select photographers.
Kate Orne is a very gifted photographer, without a doubt. I was amazed to see, that along to her “commercial” work, she has done some outstanding projects, covering various topics. Her project “Brothels and fundamentalism” was shown on “Women in photography” .
